Miller’s Roast Beef® first opened its doors in 1972. Since that time, we have been a dining institution in and around East Providence, Rhode Island, serving not only the best roast beef sandwich that you’ll ever find but also serving a variety of other mouthwatering sandwich options and exceptional, freshly-made sides that satisfy customers of all demographics.

Co-Founders, Henry and Ruby Miller, decided to follow their entrepreneurial dream of owning and operating their own restaurant in their community. Mr. Miller took a leap of faith and left his job at a local manufacturing company and started his new journey as a Franchise Owner with a new restaurant franchise concept at the time, which turned out to be a valuable learning experience.

The biggest lesson that Henry learned was the need to properly support Franchise Owners. Taking this lesson to heart, Mr. Miller envisioned a Roast Beef franchise concept that not only had the best sandwich ever but, perhaps more importantly, is a concept that valued people first, from the customers to potential Franchise Owners and beyond.

And so, Miller’s Roast Beef® was born.

The first Miller’s Roast Beef® restaurant was opened nearly a half-century ago.   It didn’t take long for Miller’s Roast Beef® to become a popular destination for customers everywhere and become a local icon on the foodservice scene. To this day, Miller’s Roast Beef® is still a family-owned and operated restaurant franchise business. Henry and Ruby’s daughter Ruth (Miller) Graham, and her husband Roger Graham Sr., took over running the restaurant and were involved with the business until 2010. In 2010, Roger Graham Jr. and wife Gwendolyn Graham, who were both already involved with Miller’s, decided to expand from their first East Providence location to a second location in Attleboro, Massachusetts. 

This was their first step towards becoming a restaurant franchise. The Miller’s wanted to open a second corporate location in order to analyze whether or not a new, different community would embrace Miller’s and to determine if our processes and operations systems could be duplicated effectively and efficiently. Thanks to the unique product and service that we provide to our customers, the Attleboro location has proven to be a huge success. People love Miller’s Roast Beef® and we are excited to continue on into the next stage of expansion.

We actually designed our restaurant with an open-kitchen concept which allows our customers the ability to watch their food being made and helps bring the customer into the experience we’re trying to provide. They also gain a better understanding of the craft, quality, freshness, and love that goes into our product.

 

Simple Menu Offering

Our simple, yet expansive menu offerings allow our Franchise Owners and their staff to become experts in the products that they’re serving our customers. This, in turn, helps create and maintain a positive effect on consistency and quality, both in terms of food and service, and it helps limit food waste.

Fresh But Fast

All of our products are prepared fresh to order, but this hasn’t slowed us down at all. With almost 50 years to perfect our method in getting food to the customer, we’re able to deliver our products in under three minutes. This includes thinly slicing our roast beef by hand for each order.
